As people get older I think there is a tendency to lower expectations, to be more realistic with their goals. There seems to be a fear that the dreams of youth will become the regrets of maturity.
But lately, I have been thinking that maybe it should be the opposite. As I age, I think a better approach may be to set myself an impossible task. There doesn't seem much point in attempting the possible.
As old age approaches I am beginning to understand the dangers of actually completing anything. That moment of relaxation, the inevitable anti-climax, the sense even of disappointment; these make up a sense of finality.
Maybe it is better, if you want to live longer that is, to attempt the impossible.
