Check out this recent update from HouseOfMuscle.com sponsored athlete Ethan Pendry:
Hello Everyone,
When HouseOfMuscle.com announced they were going to sponsor me on 01/14/14 my goal at the time and what I was training for was to earn a top 5 finish at the National Physique Committee (NPC) Mid-Atlantic Cup Bodybuilding Competition in Pittsburgh, PA, USA on 05/24/14.
I have decided to make a change. With guidance from my coach, who is an International Federation Of Bodybuilding (IFBB) pro, and the guys at HouseOfMuscle.com I have decided to bypass that competition and instead do a competition in November.
I will be returning to compete in the same competition I did last November. My new goal and what I am now training for is to earn a top 5 finish at the National Physique Committee (NPC) Jay Cutler Classic Bodybuilding Competition (National Qualifier) in Baltimore, MD, USA on 11/02/14.
The reason we have come to the decision was for the desire to come to the stage with a grand package, with optimal conditioning, more size and clarity of each muscle. I could be ready for the competition in May that I was originally training for. However, we would like to remove all doubt, as best as possible. With more time to be had with training and diet we can achieve my desired aesthetic goal.
The competition this November is on a venue and forum presented with national caliber athletes. With the extra time to train and prepare I may well do even better than my goal of a top five finish and possibly even win my class and who knows, I may even win the overall title. It is good to have goals and a dream and this change in strategy is fueling my workouts with a renewed intensity.
At first I was feeling a little down about this decision because I love to compete. Yet I have come to the understanding that it is detrimental to be in contest prep shape all year round and that competing in multiple shows could hinder my progress for the years to come.
I'm moving onto a building phase of training after great conditioning. I am very excited and feel good about the new strategy. I feel I have surrounded myself with those I can trust, which includes HouseOfMuscle.com and I am thankful for their support. Being able to take a step back and evaluate oneself without ego involved will create a better me.
My ultimate goal is to be an upper echelon athlete in my sport and this new strategy is one step towards that goal.
Well, that is it for now. It is time to get back in the gym and train hard.
Sincerely,
Ethan
