Our sponsored athlete Ethan Pendry has been training very hard since his last contest. He is now officially only one week out from his next show! Here is the latest from Ethan, when he was 2 weeks out from his show:
"I'm two weeks out right now of the NPC Northern USA's in Harrisburg PA. I'm going to be bringing a much bigger package this year. I'm fuller and have a better shape even than last year. Last year, my condition was on point. Again this year I wanted to maintain striations but bring some more thickness to my overall physique. I've done that. I've compared my current photos to where I was last year at two weeks out and I have improved. As we all know, we have areas we would always like to see improved and I am excited for what's to come. I've worked with a different coach this year and have been much more pleasant. Although every prep is different (and this one was harder) I had more fuel to execute my training so it was always mixed with highs and lows but overall I'm proud of my work."
As you can see from the photo Ethan has made some real progress this year. He is training hard for the next two weeks and is really going to dial in his diet. Here are his thoughts on the dietary changes for the final stretch:
"My diet has changed for the last two weeks relying heavily on chicken and shakes. Believe it or not, the shakes keep me fuller. I've felt they are stored longer. I could tell because the days I didn't have shakes I could notice not having the extra density in calories.
Meal 1: 2 cups egg whites, 2 scoops 100% Whey Protein shake
Meal 2: 7oz chicken, 1/2 cup jasmine rice
Meal 3: (Pre-Workout): SHOCK shake
Meal 4: 4 scoops 100% Whey Protein shake with oatmeal packets
Meal 5: 7oz chicken, 2 scoops 100% Whey Protein shake , 2 cups asparagus
Meal 6: 2 cups egg whites
Meal 7: 2 scoops 100% Whey Protein shake
So, with that caloric intake I'm happy and happy to train as hard as possible. These final two weeks I'm going hard on cardio and working on my detail work for finishing my look."
Ethan is really tightening up his diet as you can tell, and really limiting his carbs. This will allow him to lose the last few pounds of stubborn body fat as he gears up to take the stage on 9/25.
Good luck Ethan!
