Check out this recent update from Ethan:
Hello guys!
I wanted to get you all up to speed on how my diet and training has been going.
In my current training program I am doing very high volume training. This higher volume training has been an adjustment from what I had been doing, however it has proved to bring out more muscle volume and density. I lift lighter yet I am able to control and squeeze harder at every peak contraction.
I was worried about being broken down and slow to recover because of the increase in volume in my training, but that has not been the case. Combined with a good diet and getting plenty of rest, I know the supplements I am currently taking are really helping me and I thoroughly mean that. I am able to recover faster, I move more quickly between sets, and I am very focused. I want and I get every rep.
Even with the higher volume training, I haven't had any sacrifice with strength whatsoever. I've gotten stronger. I have greater phosphagenic power and I feel more muscle density.
I would say I obsess over performance and becoming better. Really though it's a matter of daily rituals that must be met in order to raise and attain such standards. I absolutely must be dialed in on my training, diet, rest and supplementation. The choice "not to" is only detrimental to how I workout and how I feel about my upcoming competition.
For example, I stick to my diet daily. Overall, I enjoy it but sometimes I do get bored with butter lettuce and red leaf on a salad. I just try to keep in mind which part of myself I am willing to deny to become further separated from anything average. My conscience has been forged to say inwardly to be proud of my work and diligence. You build confidence from your daily doing. So do it and don't cheat yourself.
Lastly, I want to stress that I believe the biggest difference in my progress towards my goal truly has to do with the supplements I am currently taking. Since taking my current supplement stack a secure, forcing feeling to want to grip iron has overcome me. It makes me want to get more done and it makes it so I can get more done. I feel increased stoic focus and I am making the most out of the time spent in the gym -- denser lifts, harder contractions, smooth rhythmic movements.
Training hurts. It's tough, really tough. But it's fulfilling to challenge your body to do quality training and demanding only that. It is also reassuring to take the supplements necessary to support that want.
Sincerely,
Ethan
