Ethan addresses a House Of Muscle customers question about motivation:
Ethan,
Congrats on your success!
I have hit a definite roadblock in motivation recently. Typically I sign up for races throughout the year to keep me going and on track, but this time even that hasn't worked.
Any tips?

Hi A.,
When it comes to motivation sometimes all it takes is new music on the iPod to be excited to workout to. Sometimes a new outfit even helps. The spectrum of emotions that fuel some of us to get up and go can definitely run its course.
However, what never gets old is inspiration. I think of people in the position that are depicted in movies like 300 and Braveheart. They want freedom so badly they'll fight no matter what, even when they haven't eaten, they're hurt and broken. Yet, they are not dispirited, but inspired to continue their duty out of love for who they love and what they desire deeply.
The roadblock is exactly that, the war against you. It's you against you now, the greater power will prevail -- believe it is you. It is you, it's always you. Want it badly; treat it as a fight for your life. The life you deserve, your pinnacle of health, strength, victory. Your throne is always attacked, from doubt, insecurity and pain that are ready to shoot you down. But don't lose heart. Remember, this is the battle. Recruit every muscle, command them to move, shout if you must. The question remains; "Is that all you got?" Shout, "Never!" Drown out uncertainty with the fire of your desire to win. Shout "Never!" when your body wants to quit. I do.
